Behind the Design
Conscientiously Circular

Where creation & Environment Co-exist
Cloth Upcycle
At O Tsukiyo, my craft is deeply rooted in the rich eco-culture of Edo Japan. Much like the artisans of that time who transformed kimono and obi fabrics into practical items, I continue this tradition by upcycling unloved cloth into unique creations that honor the past while embracing a sustainable future. Through a circular economy and zero-waste design approach, every aspect of my work reflects a commitment to sustainability and thoughtful reuse.
Sustainability
My creations are not designed to last forever but are instead envisioned as cherished treasures, weaving themselves into the fabric of an eco-conscious lifestyle. Inspired by the eco-culture of Edo Japan, I strive to demonstrate that sustainability and craftsmanship can coexist in harmony. With transparency and a dedication to continuous improvement, I aim to show that timeless style can flourish without compromising the health of our planet. Together, we can celebrate a world where sustainability is at the heart of beauty and design.
Plastic-Free Design
Sustainability is reflected in every element of my work. From sourcing natural textiles through recycle stores across Japan to using earth-based materials for labels, buttons, and trims, I carefully select each component to minimize environmental impact. For more information about the natural and eco-friendly materials that make up my one-of-a-kind pieces, visit the Components page to explore their origins and properties.
Growing Impact
As I continue to grow as an artist and designer, my vision extends beyond my individual creations. In the future, I plan to dedicate a portion of my proceeds to supporting organizations aligned with my mission of environmental stewardship and sustainability. These initiatives will further amplify the positive change we can make together, helping to protect our planet for future generations. Stay tuned for updates as I work to deepen my commitment to a more sustainable and harmonious world.
